Jacob clemans qualifies for his second national event

Congratulations to Jacob who this weekend played a national grade two event at the University of Bath.

This is a tennis Europe wild card event where the winner received a place in a tennis Europe tour competition. The event received huge interest with 90 players around the country hoping to get one of the 14 places.

Coach “Well done Jacob, A reward for all your hard work and commitment on the practise court” Robert

“Last Thursday evening, I had a phone call at 8pm just as I was about to go to bed, to say that I have just got a place into the Tennis Europe Wild Card Qualifying event in Bath! I was very happy to get into this event as I had been on the reserve list. My first match was at 11am so we headed up early the next morning. I was excited to have the opportunity to play in my first Tennis Europe Event. I was put into a box with 3 other boys and so throughout the day I played 3 matches. I lost my first match but was pleased with how well I played. My second match was long, I played my best and came away with my first National win! In my last match I played the number 1 seed – he was very strong, but I put up a good fight. It was a brilliant event and I loved playing at Bath University with some of the best players in the country! Thanks again to everyone at Penzance for all of their support!” Jacob Clemens.
