Last Saturday saw the Finals Day of 2021 Penzance Tennis Club Championships. A good crowd watched some fantastic tennis played on a beautiful summers day.


First up was the Ladies Singles between Holly Drew and Zoe Body, which Holly took 6-1 6-0. In the Men’s Singles Claudio Domizi played Allan Hampshire. After a close first set Claudio took the win 6-3 6-0.


Both the Ladies and Men’s Doubles we’re compelling matches with terrific shots being played on all sides. In the Ladies Doubles Holly and Zoe partnered each other against Sarah Stevens and Vicki Nichols. Sarah and Vicki took the first set, then Holly and Zoe took the second set before winning the championship tiebreak. The final score was 6-7 6-0 10-6.


Similarly in the Men’s Doubles Final Claudio and Allan partnered each other against Sam Newborn and Erik Dirkx. Claudio and Allan took the first set before Sam and Erik came back to take the second set and claim the Championship Tie Break. The final score was 3-6 6-4 10-7.

A special mention must go to Holly Drew who has now won her triple events for the third consecutive year! Brilliant, well done Holly!
