New – 50/50 Club!

Welcome to our 50/50 CLUB – a great way for you to support us whilst having a bit of a flutter! Here’s how it works… Penzance Tennis Club CRF 50/50 Club runs from 1 April each year, and members may join before 1 April and pay £12 for one year’s entries (1 entry per month).  Members may have more than 1 entry per month by paying the appropriate multiple of £12. To join, please complete and sign the attached membership form, and pay annually in advance at £12 for 12 entries, one per month, during the year from April to March, and pay by cash, cheque (payable to Penzance Future), or bank transfer to Sort code: 40 36 13, Account number: 31452126, Reference:  50/50 + YOUR NAME).  Those joining part way through the year pay in advance at a rate of £1 per month for each full month up to the following March. Each £12 buys you one entry per month, which enters you into 12 monthly draws. All participants must be over 16 years old when they enter.  Multiple entries are allowed.  Each entry has an equal chance of winning. The draw will take place before the end of each month, in the clubhouse, by at least two Committee members or members of the CRF Subcommittee.  Those attending will sign to say the draw was conducted fairly with all entries included and all having an equal chance of success. If you win, a cheque will be posted to your home address and the name of the winner published in the newsletter and a notice put on the club notice board. The prize money will be 50% of the 50/50 Club membership fees taken that month. The remaining 50% goes to Penzance Tennis Club Court Renewal Fund to be used towards the future cost of resurfacing Courts 1 to 4. Any queries, please contact Tricia Smith on 01736 367087 or email triciasmith39@hotmail.com. JOIN OUR 50/50 CLUB FROM 1 APRIL 2020 AND YOU COULD BE A WINNER! Please download a form here or get a copy from the club. Read 50/50 Club Rules below or download a copy here PURPOSE The purpose of the 50/50 Club is to raise funds for the Court Renewal Fund, and for members to have some fun in participating, with the chance of winning a prize. The money raised will be paid into the Penzance Tennis Club Future bank account (CRF account) and used towards the cost of resurfacing Courts 1 to 4.   The 50/50 Club will start in April 2020. RULES For £1 per month per entry (i.e. one entry per monthly draw – multiple entries allowed each month) the 50/50 Club member will...

Record Turn Out for Quiz Night!

The clubhouse was packed on Saturday evening, when 20 keen quizzing teams battled it out, with “Penheads on Tour” (Head Coach, Ian, Anna, Carolyn and Alan) narrowly winning against some fierce competition. They each won a beautiful hand turned pen kindly donated by Bill (Dawn Roberts Dad), so thank you for these unique prizes. Our sincere thanks to the Quiz Master Chris Williams for such a fun and varied set of questions that tested everyone! There were over a dozen raffle prizes, all generously donated by members, and it raised £129. Adding this to the entry fees, the total profit for the whole evening came to £355, which has boosted the CRF (Court Renewal Fund) to over the £8k mark! Thanks also to all the volunteers on the night for manning the bar and helping with the setting up to squeeze everyone in! As it was so popular we will organise another quiz night soon, and make sure you enter your team early next time, as we will be limiting the number of entries. A fun evening enjoyed by...
